The big reveal!! All I made for Christmas!!

So I'll start with the doll clothes that I made for Lacey.  She got an American Girl doll the day before Thanksgiving that she paid for all by herself.  So she wanted doll everything for Christmas!
Here is a fancy dress with shrug

and doesn't every doll need a zebra skin coat?

and pj pants that match the ones she got for Christmas.

I was called by a family friend about making some doll beds like the ones we did for the girls last year. I was instructed white beds, and green fabric for one and purple for the other.

Here is the green one, I LOVE the green that I found.

Complete with pillows and fitted sheet of course!

And here is the best purple I could find.  There is just not a lot of purple that is cute fabric out there but this I thought would do the trick.

After those were complete it was time to get started on the wood portion of my crafting. This project was made for my mother.  I have this thing about making grandmother gifts for her.  SO this is what she got this year.

Needless to say I made her cry, again!!

I made a sign similar to this one, I didn't get a photo of the finished product but this gives you the idea.  This was the perfect gift for my brother and his girlfriend because he is TERRIBLE with birthdays so now he has no excuse!

This is similar to what I made for my dad for Christmas.  I didn't get a picture of his either but it's just like this only different lettering.

And last but not least I made these PJ pants for the girls this year.  They had to get a picture with their cups because they were SO excited Santa brought them all one.   So other that the bags I made for the nieces and nephews which I forgot to take pictures of too but as soon as I get them I'll make sure to post them!

What did you make for someone this Christmas?

I've been crafting, really I have.

I have been REALLY busy with a lot of crafting but most of it is Christmas gifts so I'm not posting them just yet but here are a few things that aren't Christmas gifts that I can post.

Here is a toddler boy owl hat that I made, unfortunately I don't have a little model to wear it but it's definitely going to a good home.

This is a ladybug hat I designed at the request of my 7 year old.  I made it for her friend that was having her birthday.  I couldn't find a pattern for it so I made one up myself.

This is a project that I completed for my cousin.  She is giving this diaper bag to one of her friends.  Hope a couple months isn't too late!
It is large and has great dividers and pockets on the inside.  I would have LOVED this when I carried around a diaper bag but we are WAY past that.  I'm good just making them for people! There are a few things I would change from the original pattern now that I have made one but it's still good!  Well until I can post all my Christmas gifts.  I hope you get all your projects done before Christmas!

A few new things...

So I've seen these owl hats every where so I just had to try my hands out at one of these.  I found a free pattern on Pintrest.

This is the result of the 1st try.  I love it and think it's SO cute but I'm just not loving the ears on it.  So I did a little research on Etsy

And I found one with ears like this one, so this is my second attempt and I have to say I like it much better.  The first one went to my friend who should have her baby girl any day and the 2nd will be for my cousins little boy.  I think it looks like a boy owl don't you?  They are fairly easy and quick to make but they can cost anywhere from $25 to $40.  Wow!  Sure glad I can make them myself!!

you are talking too much />

So I didn't make my goal but here are a few things I've accomplished!!

So last year I went a little crazy buying a bunch of vinyl projects.  Well as I usually do I have great intentions but don't always get the things done I would like to.  Well I sat down to clean up my craft table the other day and instead of cleaning I ended up getting a few projects done that have been sitting on my table and that is the way I cleaned.  I got those things off my table!!

Love the green and pink on this.  I like that it's not your typical colors!

Here is a cute sign that I wanted for my garden.  Well now that it's all dead it's done but it is ready for next year!!

This is a fun double sided project which I love because you can get 2 things out of it which means less to store!

Very easy but cute project!

Then I did these cute coasters!  Not that we use coasters that often but just in case we want to we have them now!

Then there was this ugly clock I purchased at the thrift store last winter.  HH was questioning my judgement when I purchased it but it was like .50 or something and I had a vision.

I think it turned out pretty cool.  Now to just find a spot for it!

And last but not least, my latest project...

My BSU countdown.  For our church Super Saturday we were making a Days till Christmas countdown and I bought it.  Then I started thinking about how I didn't need one because I have my awesome advent calendar that I made a few years back.  As my girlfriend and I were standing in the coupon line at Walmart we saw this awesome BSU wrapping paper and an idea sprouted in my head.  Needless to say the wrapping paper came home with me and this is what I came up with!  My husband LOVES it and I've had LOTS of interest in it!!
So there is some of the fun I've been having in between Dr appts, counseling appts, volunteering at school, church callings and the kids being on break.  I hope to have a few other things before the month is over!  Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving spending time with family and friends!!

Plans change

I'm a little bummed because my goal was to post every day this month.  Unfortunately life gets busy.  When you have 4 kids there are lots of things that have to happen and get done and when you have 4 with ADHD and Anxiety there is even more to do.  With PSR and now counseling it is taking up lots of our after school time so of course the craft get put to the way side.  I promise I will get something up this week, I'm hoping it's my wreath but there are no promises!

Ooh, I'm on a roll!

So I saw this pillow awhile ago (I thought it was a year but apparently it's been 2 years.  Wow, does time fly!) on this really fun blog.  I finally did it!!  My goal this month is to post one thing a day for the WHOLE month. We'll see if I can accomplish it!

I think the leaves must be bigger than the ones she used because I didn't get quit as many leaves on as she did but I still love it!!  Well now on to my next project!

I know, I know...

On the 1st day of November you were probably expecting something Fall or Thanksgivingish.  Well sorry to disappoint but I had to get this little purse/bag on here.  I made this for one of my girls friends for their birthday. I love the colors they are so fun and bright.

The cherry's and paisley just make me happy!

Here is a close up of the flower I made to adorn this little cutie.
I just took consecutive circles and frayed the edges and then rolled them up in my hand to give them a crumpled look then sewed them on with a layer of matching buttons.  I think it turned out so cute!  We added some hair accessories and a lip gloss inside and off she went to the party.

A few last minute Halloween goodies

So about a month ago I decided I was going to make slipcovers, for these pillow forms that have been sitting around here, for every holiday. So here are the ones I finished just in time for Halloween this year.

I used fabric that I had sitting around in my fabric stash (or as my husband calls it my fabric hoard).  My girls really liked the Happy Halloween on the 1st one.

When I finished this one they thought it was adorable.  I love the little spiders!

Here are a couple close ups so you can see the edging fabric to.

And last but not least I thought we would decorate some cookies because who doesn't love a sugar cookie and a holiday is the perfect excuse!

I love how these spider web cookies turned out and they were SO easy.  I'm pretty sure making the cookies was the hardest part of this one!

Halloween Wreath

I got inspired and wanted to create a black feather wreath.  I found all the stuff for this wreath on sale at Hobby Lobby I only paid $10.54 for this!  I think it's SO cute and fun!  It will probably be my only Halloween craft this year but I do have some Thanksgiving and Christmas projects in the making!
Happy Halloween!!

Mod Podged Pumpkins and squash

So now that I am no longer in Young Women's I am on the Relief Society meeting committee and we get to plan all the fun extra activities that the ladies in our ward can participate in.  For October we did a Harvest Mania and talked about why we decorate and how to decorate on a budget and 2 of the ladies decorated a bunch of tables as samples.  They were beautiful!  We also had a table of food that was made from our "Harvest" from our gardens.  They were yummy too!  For an activity we did these pumpkins.  I did mine with my neighbor the next day because we had such a great turn out there just wasn't time for me to do it that night.  I also did those little squash.
I am going to keep them through the Thanksgiving holiday as well!  Those little squash are gonna make their home in a cornucopia!

A little sewing time

SO school is in and I have a little time to get some sewing done. I bought these three fabrics to make a couple purses out of but they've just been sitting around waiting for me to get to them.  Well I found this cute pattern for the little girls and thought this would be a great fall outfit.

I took me one evening of cutting it all out and then the next afternoon to get it put together.

This is what I got out of it!!

I think it turned out great.  I think the most difficult thing was finding jeans to add the embellishment to.  They really like the way it turned out.  SO fun, and they get lots of compliments on it!

Pattern Tester

So I saw an add somewhere is computer land about being a sewing tester.  I answered it and let her know of my interest.  My payment would be that I got the sewing patterns for free if I just sewed up a little something and took pictures and sent her an email.  I knew it was something I could do.  Here are the 1st 2 patterns she sent me.  I made the first pair a 9 because that is the size I wear.  Well it was a bit small so Bailey got the first pair.  She LOVES them, she even asked if she could wear them to school.

I love the colors in these, so bright and fun.

These were the 2nd pattern I received.  I made these a 10 and they fit just right so I think her sizing is a little off. You know by like a whole size.
She loved the fabric I used for these and they are really fun.  They are a moccasin style and I had to do a little hand stitching on them.
I'm awaiting my next pattern which is supposed to be a purse and I do love to sew purses and my girls love them.  Although I am looking for a new purse for me so we'll have to wait and see.  I'll try and keep posting these fun patterns I am receiving.

Western Idaho Fair '11

So apparently I have been neglecting this blog something horrible.  So sorry to any of those who actually read it!  SO WAY back in August we had our local Fair.  My girls are all in 4-H and we had to submit their things I figured I'd drop off a few of the things I'd made through the year.  I was pleasantly surprised to find...

A blue ribbon on one of my purses.  I have to say this is probably the worst display job they could have come up with for a purse but it is what it is, I'm just glad to see a blue ribbon on that baby!

The white dress is not mine but it is cute, however the doll bed IS mine.  John made the bed, although we didn't turn it in to be judged it was just the holder to my doll bedding which I received a 2nd place ribbon on.  Not too bad! This is Maddie's bed for her dolls, she is my girl who loves blue!

This is one of the diaper cases that I have been making for a while now.  The mom's I've been giving them to LOVE them and the mom's that don't have them wish they did.  I thought I would enter it in to see what the judges thought.  It was worthy of a 2nd place, I won't complain too much about that!

Here are some of the paper craft things I entered. The top left is a Stamped card I got a third, on my Valentine card in the top right I got a 4th place on, my scrapbook page I got 4th which I was OK with because in previous years I didn't even place and the bottom right is my wedding card. I got a 2nd on that which bummed me out because I guess in the heat the glue didn't stick so well so by the time they judged it had come loose.  Oh, well, what do ya do?!

Here is my Christmas card that i entered, VERY disappointed with this, I didn't even place and last year I got 1st so I was a bit bummed.  It's all in who is looking at them and their own opinion and apparently they didn't like my style as much as they like the gaudy over the top style which were the ones that got the blue ribbons this year.  Oh, well.  Maybe next year!
So I hope you enjoyed that little sampling of things I thought were worthy of being judged!

More baby stuff

So like I said before, everyone in our ward is having babies, we had 3 just this week and one last week.   I think we are on a break until end of Oct, first of Nov.  Here are some of the things I have made for their mommies...

I will show the outsides and the insides of all the clutches
This one was for the Coopers who had a baby girl on the 31st of July

This one is for the Brackneys that are due in Nov.  And just as a side note all these babies are girls, 6 girls it's just crazy to me!

These are some burp clothes I did for the Smith baby.  She was born the end of June and I just finally got her gift finished.
I love the colors in this fabric.  I think I might need to make me a skirt out of it! :)

This one is for the Snyders.  They had their 1st girl after 3 boys on Aug. 3rd.  I love the pearl accents I used!

sorry for the terrible picture

This one is for the Perks family who just had their 5th baby also on Aug. 3rd
