Check out my new LOGO!!

So as some of you may know I was selling stuff on Etsy.com and had sold a few things but was having better luck locally by word of mouth and my mother and brothers fiance'.  Now that the kids are all in school and I have hours during the day to complete stuff I thought I would get serious about selling on Etsy.  I asked a friend of mine to come up with a logo for me.  I had an idea of what I wanted but just needed the help executing the thought.  So here it is...

Been busy, but crafting in between

So I know it's not much but it's something!!  I found this little owl here and thought it was SO cute!!

Then I will be making a dress with this material as soon as I get the lining fabric for it.  But I wanted to make a little hair clip to go with it.  So here are the things I have done, hopefully there will be more soon!

Next outfit...

So before I did the clown outfit I had cut this fabric out for an outfit for Lacey.  I originally bought this for a tiered skirt but decided to switch it up and do this outfit instead since she "REALLY" wanted it in this fabric.

So now that the clown outfit was complete I felt I could move on to the outfit I cut out so here it is...

So here is the clown outfit...

So funny things happen in life and sometimes you meet people you never thought you would.  Well this is what has happened, we were at the fair and saw this cute clown with no line waiting to make balloon animals.  We walked up, started talking and she noticed some pants that Kodie was wearing and asked if I sewed.  Of course I told her I did and she asked if I would sew this...

I believe it will be much cuter when she is wearing it but for now this is what I've got!

Are ya wondering?

I know you might be wondering what I've been up to since I was on quite a roll a few weeks ago.  Well now that fair is over and the kids are in school I've been trying to get some things done for myself now that the kids are all in school all day.  But when I went to the fair last week I stumbled upon a sewing job.  The girls wanted a balloon from the clown at the fair so we stood in line to get one.  Well Kodie was wearing some of the pants I made her and the clown (female) fell in love, asked if I would sew for her, and now I'm sewing a clown suit.  I'm not too far from being done but getting up at 6am has thrown my body for a loop.  I think I am close so when I finish I will post some pictures!

Now known as an Award winning Seamstress and Greeting Card Artisit!!

So as many of you know I have been crafting for what seems like my whole life.  Every year I say I'm going to enter something in the fair and it comes and goes and I never have, until this year.  The girls had their 4-H stuff that we had to turn in so I decided that since we already had to be there I should just take my stuff too, so I did it!

We went to the fair on Saturday for the girls to participate in the fashion revue for 4-H and this is what I saw!

A BLUE ribbon attached to my Christmas Card!!  I got 1st place!!  Not only do I get that blue ribbon but I also get $7 and this is why I am an award winning greeting card artist!!

Out of 4 cards that I entered I got 2 awards. 

This was in the hand stamped category and I got 2nd and $5 for this one.

Then I decided with all the sewing I have done that I would submit some of my sewing projects.  I chose 2, a pair of twirl pants, that won 2nd place...

and the blouse that I made myself that also won 2nd place.

 

 So that is why I am now an Award winning seamstress too!!  SO EXCITING!!

I did it!!!

So I successfully finished my first ever slick fabric project!!  It was kind of a pain cuz you have to be really careful where you pin because they will leave marks and if you have to seam rip that leaves marks to so I did had to seam rip a few times but it all worked out.   

The funny thing is the thing that cost the most on this dress was the zipper.  I only spent about $12 on this dress!

I think this will be the pattern I will us to make Kodie's blessing dress now that I know I can sew slick fabric without ruining it!
