Crafy kitty

Here is a couple pictures of my crafty kitty.  Her name is Cupcake and she is SO sweet.  She loves to be around me when I am crafting, it's SO funny.  As soon as she hears my sewing machine start or sees me sitting in my craft room she is right on top of me.  She loves to be right next to me and even bats at my scissors or tries to grab at paper.  She is So fun.

As I was finishing cutting my last of the Christmas Eve jammies she was right there with me.  I tied some extra pattern around her neck and she just layed around like it was a fashion accessory.  She cracks me up!

Doll beds

So I found this plan for a doll bed here.  I thought it looked easy enough and SO cheap.  It cost no more than $10 to make this bed and then scrap fabrics to make the bedding.  I found the measurements for the bedding here.  My husband built the beds in about 2 hours, start to finish.  I painted them and made the bedding.  That took longer than building by about a week! The girls are SO excited about these and are hoping that Santa will bring them a dolly to sleep in them!

A few of the things I've been making

I promised awhile ago that I would show off some of the things I've been working on and here they are!

This is the towels I made for my card club girls for their gifts for Christmas.  They were much more time consuming than I originally thought!  I got the inspiration here.
This is the scrapbook page we made at Scrap club.  My friend Natalie created this beauty!

Here are a couple of the hair flowers I've been working on.  They are SO cute and the girls are loving them!

And here is the Mrs. Claus outfit I have been working on for a lady.  She is the same one I did the clown costume for.  She is dressing as Mrs. Claus at a senior center Christmas party.

She had this red velour dress she wanted me to embellish with white fur, make the apron and make the hat.  She was VERY pleased with the results!

I will of course have much more to show off with Christmas and all so stay tuned for the next set of things!

Crocheted hat

So I found this crocheted hat that I really liked on a fb post from Lion brand yarn.  At first I thought it looked a little complicated and when it comes to crocheted I am not confident enough for complicated.  I thought I'd give it a try and see how it turned out.  Well here it is.  Don't give any attention to the picture of me as I took it with my phone and the flash on that sucker is BRIGHT!!  I was kinda squinting when I took it so my face looks weird!

If you'd like to make one of your own go here

I'll be linking up to these blogs:

Carmel Apples

So I have never made carmel apples this fancy before but I thought I'd give it a try and with homemade carmel to boot.  I found this carmel recipe here.
So I dipped the apples in carmel and then rolled half in nuts.

All dipped in chocolate.

Dipped in chocolate and strung a little white chocolate over the top to fancy them up.

All wrapped up and ready for giving!

Here is what they look like cut in half and ready to eat.

Thrift Store Apothecary Jars...

So some where in the blogosphere I found this idea to make regular ol' jars and candle sticks into apothecary jars.  So these three little jars were screaming for me to take them home.  Then I went looking for candle sticks and found the 2 beauties shown here.

 Add a little of this
and you'll get...

 THIS!
And they only cost me $11 which is probably less than one of the real thing!
So the little one is still looking for it's candle stick, I'm thinking something about 4 inches high.  These will be used in my Halloween decor!

A couple things I made during conference weekend

So if any of you know me you know that I can't just sit and watch TV, I have to be doing something with my hands too, so since it was conference weekend I had to have something to do and this is what it was.
I made this cute dress that I have been SO excited about because of the owl fabric.

You can sorta see the clip that matches it in her hair.

Here is the circle skirt that I found fabric for a couple weeks ago.  It's fairly easy and I think looks pretty cute!

There is also a bow that I could put on it and looking at it now I think it needs it.  It's a little plain looking where the loop to pull up the top skirt.  What do you think?

Here is the fabric a little closer so you can get a better idea.  I think it the other ones you couldn't tell the zebra stripe had pink with it!

Here it finally is!!

A couple weeks ago I teased you all with a hair clip with the fabric I would be using for my next project.  Well I finally finished it and it's as cute as I was hoping it would be!

Front view
This is a halter dress that ties at the neck but because we are all about modesty we have the shrug that goes right along with it!!

My little model was very concerned that you got a view from all angles!
